Place your bets: What will Apple's tablet be called?

Apple will tomorrow morning announce a new tablet computer -- or will it?

If the technology rumour mill is to be believed, Apple will tomorrow morning announce a new, touch screen–based tablet computer. Set to be unveiled at 5am Thursday morning (AEST), the media event in San Francisco is one of the most anticipated Apple events on the calendar.

In anticipation of the launch, we're taking bets (okay not literally) on what Apple will call the new tablet. Here are some of the suggestions echoing around the GoodGearGuide office:

- iPad
- iTab
- iTouch
- iSlate
- iPalette
- iTablet
- iBook

What do you think Apple's new tablet will be called? Do you agree with any of our above suggestions, or do you have a guess out of left field? Or is the rumour mill horribly wrong and there is really no Apple tablet? Or do you really just not care? Leave your suggestions in the comments field below!

Tablet name

Should be iBook but there again Apple have never used the same name twice. It will be something short and part of the famous "Apple Experience"

Whatever it will be called, people will buy it and then Belkin wil bring out protective cases and car kits for it and people will buy those too.

Anyway, my money is on iSlate or Macbook Slate.
