Jimi Hendrix could get his own Rock Band edition

In an interview with the LA Times posted Valentine's Day, Jimi Hendrix's stepsister detailed a new deal with Sony Music to distribute the rocker's music "through every type of media," including a new edition of Rock Band that Janie Hendrix says should appear this year.
Billboard.com drew attention to the quote yesterday with speculation on how Rock Band developer Harmonix could produce both a Green Day: Rock Band game and a Hendrix game at once:
...[C]oming out with a Hendrix game this year makes the most sense. There's certainly no shortage of Hendrix-related material coming out in the coming months as the 40th anniversary of his death approaches this fall. In March, Sony Music will put out a collection of previously unreleased studio recordings, and a special edition iPod Touch bearing the artist's image is also in the works.
It's not clear from the original article, however, that Hendrix would get his own game in Rock Band instead of a downloadable content pack.
Harmonix could not be reached for comment at time of press.
