VHA and Telstra have announced they will be offering data plans for the Apple iPad
Australia's three main telcos — VHA, Telstra and Optus — have all announced today that they are offering a series of mobile broadband plans for the upcoming Apple iPad.
VHA has announced it will offer "dedicated iPad price plans for all 3G + Wi-Fi iPad models from the end of May in Australia," but provided no further details.
GoodGearGuide contacted VHA for more information, but the company could not confirm if prepaid or contract plans would be offered by either Vodafone or 3 Mobile, nor would it reveal any pricing.
Telstra and Optus both stated that they would also be offering iPad specific plans but neither carrier has released any other details.
It is unclear if Australian providers will offer the iPad as part of a contract plan that subsidises the 3G-capable device or instead will adopt the prepaid model that will be used in the US.
Apple announced today that the worldwide release of the iPad would be delayed for at least a month until the end of May, citing undersupply due to demand for the tablet device in the US.
