The Pirate Bay must stay blocked in Denmark, says court

Entertainment industry scores a victory as operator Telenor is told to continue blocking the site

Telecom operator Telenor will have to continue to block file-sharing site The Pirate Bay in Denmark, the Danish Supreme Court said on Thursday.

The site has been blocked by the operator for almost two and a half years, and will stay blocked, which is what the IFPI (International Federation of the Phonographic Industry) has wanted.

The verdict means its 1-1 between Telenor and IFPI in the Scandinavian courts. Last year, Telenor won a similar case in its home country, Norway.

The operator has always maintained that it is not its role to censor content on the Internet. However, the Danish verdict is a small victory, according to Nicholai Kramer Pfeiffer, regulatory chief at Telenor. It can still use DNS (Domain Name Server) blocking to stop users from accessing The Pirate Bay, and not more advanced and costly methods, he said.

In addition to Telenor, TDC and TeliaSonera are also blocking The Pirate Bay in Denmark, according to Kramer Pfeiffer.

HP OfficeJet Pro 8730

I've had a multifunction printer in the office going on 10 years now. It was a neat bit of kit back in the day -- print, copy, scan, fax -- when printing over WiFi felt a bit like magic. It’s seen better days though and an upgrade’s well overdue. This HP OfficeJet Pro 8730 looks like it ticks all the same boxes: print, copy, scan, and fax. (Really? Does anyone fax anything any more? I guess it's good to know the facility’s there, just in case.) Printing over WiFi is more-or- less standard these days.

Ultimately, I think the Windows 10 environment is excellent for me as it caters for so many different uses. The inclusion of the Xbox app is also great for when you need some downtime too!

For me, the Xbox Play Anywhere is a great new feature as it allows you to play your current Xbox games with higher resolutions and better graphics without forking out extra cash for another copy. Although available titles are still scarce, but I’m sure it will grow in time.
