Kid Icarus: Uprising

An old favourite has been announced as new game for the Nintendo 3DS along with a number of impressive features on the impending handheld.

Kid Icarus was first released on the NES in 1986 and was re-released on the Wii’s Virtual Console in 2007. The platformer has found a new home on the 3DS with Nintendo president, Satoru Iwata, promising the 3D graphics will provide better gameplay and controls for the airborne protagonist.

Japanese video game developer, Project Sora, formed in 2009 partly by Iwata, has been working on the project for some time.

Iwata also revealed the 3DS has a slider bar to adjust the level of 3D graphics and the ability to switch 3D off entirely using a side slider bar.

The device is also capable of taking 3D pictures and viewing 3D movies although no confirmed titles have been announced.

Nintendo revealed a swathe of third-party developers keen to develop games for the 3D platform. They include Konami, Capcom and Square Enix, so we can expect to see Solid Snake, flesh eating zombies and androgynous RPG characters in the third dimension very soon.

Nintendo 3DS will be released next year.

I’d happily recommend this touchscreen laptop and Windows 10 as a great way to get serious work done at a desk or on the road.

Windows 10 / HP Spectre

Ultimately, I think the Windows 10 environment is excellent for me as it caters for so many different uses. The inclusion of the Xbox app is also great for when you need some downtime too!

Windows 10 / Lenovo Yoga

For me, the Xbox Play Anywhere is a great new feature as it allows you to play your current Xbox games with higher resolutions and better graphics without forking out extra cash for another copy. Although available titles are still scarce, but I’m sure it will grow in time.

For work use, Microsoft Word and Excel programs pre-installed on the device are adequate for preparing short documents.
