Dead Rising 2 uncut in Australia

Capcom's undead sequel receives MA15+ rating in Australia, will come with all the brains

THQ Australia today confirmed that Capcom's hotly anticipated zombie game, Dead Rising 2, will be released in Australia completely uncut. The game is set for release on 30 September.

Because Australia lacks an R18+ classification for games, any title deemed "adults only" cannot legally be sold. The lack of an R rating for games in Australia has been a cause of mounting frustration among gamers, especially zombie-loving ones.

Last year, it was announced that EA’s Left 4 Dead 2 had been refused classification in Australia by the OFLC due to "high-impact" violence. Other games to run afoul of the Australian Classification Board include Silent Hill: Homecoming, Grand Theft Auto IV and Fallout 3.

Thankfully, Dead Rising 2 is set to come with all the blood, gore and brains that gamers expect. "Australian gamers playing Dead Rising 2 will receive the full experience, playing the same version released in North America and the UK", THQ said in a press release. Dead Rising 2 has received an MA15+ classification, for 'strong horror violence', 'blood and gore' and 'sexual references'.
