How many times have you gone to plug in a USB device, only to get it wrong and try to plug it in upside down? Ultratek is guessing that it’s a fairly common occurrence, and it’s recently introduced a USB connector that can be inserted regardless of its orientation.
With Ultratek’s upcoming USB connector, known as the Flipper, it won’t matter whether you plug in a USB connector upside-down or right-side-up.
Whereas a normal USB connector is half filled with plastic, the Flipper does away with the plastic. Instead, the device has a thin connector strip within the center of the USB plug with connection contacts on both sides; allowing users to essentially plug and play without even having to look.
The video below demonstrates a Flipper product in action:
It’s a simple change, but one that will no doubt please many. Share your thoughts on USB frustration in the comments.
