HP has unveiled the new Envy 100 e-All-in-One inkjet multifunction printer, which has a sleek, compact design that shouldn't look out of place in a modern living space. The Envy 100 e-All-in-One packs automatic double-sided printing and a flatbed scanner/copier into a body that is significantly smaller than HP's older multifunction devices.
The HP Envy 100 e-All-in-One mimics a home theatre PC in its styling, with a central, front-mounted 3.45in colour touchscreen. Integration with HP's ePrint cloud printing allows users to print wirelessly and via e-mail. HP also claims that the Envy 100 e-All-in-One offers "whisper quiet" printing, with an automatic paper tray that only extends when documents have been printed.
HP designer Ryan Wilday told PC World that customers wanted a printer that was smaller and would them "the freedom to do what they want". An integrated paper cassette means the HP Envy 100 e-All-in-One presents a clean front profile, and rear ports are hidden to allow the printer to sit flush against a wall. The Envy 100 e-All-in-One is HP's first PVC-free printer, cutting down on environmental waste during production. It will be available to purchase from 1 November and will cost $399.
