Optus today launched a new prepaid mobile offer, Optus Dollar Days, touting daily flexibility for customers as a key benefit.
The new Optus Dollar Day prepaid plan allows customers to choose what value they want to assign to each day, choosing from $1, $2 and $3 a day.
The $1 a day Optus Dollar Day includes unlimited calls, SMS and MMS messages to Optus mobiles, unlimited standard calls to Australian fixed-line phone numbers and unlimited access to Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, eBay, LinkedIn and Foursquare. The $2 a day offer includes all the above plus unlimited calls, SMS and MMS messages to all Australian mobile numbers, while the $3 a day plan includes all the above plus "unlimited" mobile data, and free weekends when you pay $3 a day each day in the week from Monday to Friday.
If you don't make any calls or send any message on a particular day, Optus won't charge your daily rate for that day.
"Once a customer has activated their daily offer, we encourage them to take full advantage of it by chatting, texting and browsing as much as they want on that given day," said Optus consumer managing director Michael Smith. "Because we recognise that not all prepaid customers use their phone every day, customers won’t pay anything on the days they don’t use their phone."
The plan only allows users to change their pre-set daily value once a month, but any unused credit rolls over to the next month, provided users recharge before their credit expires.
The Optus Dollar Days prepaid plan is available from today.
