Canberra-based system integrator, Australian Technology Information (ATI), has been acquired by ship builder, Austal, for an undisclosed sum.
ATI provides specialised services to Australian Defence Forces such as systems engineering and integration, IT, verification and validation systems and deployable tactical command centres.
It was established in 1990 and has two offices, one in Canberra and Sydney.
It has developed an expertise in military tactical data links, GPS, self-replicating digital communications, forward-looking infrared, general electronics, military and civil command and control, and 3D visualisation.
In a statement to the ASX, Austal chairman, John Rothwell, said the strategic acquisition enhanced its capability as a defence prime contractor.
ATI’s turnover in FY10 totalled $6.1 million.
