Synology today launched the RackStation RS411, a rack-mountable, network-attached storage (NAS) device designed for businesses.

The 4-bay Synology RackStation RS411 can house up to 12TB of storage and is equipped with a 1.6GHz CPU, 256MB of DDR3 RAM and dual Ethernet connections with failover support.

According to Synology, the server consumes only 53 Watts of power during operation and offers average read and write speeds of 107.75 megabytes per second and 47.71MBps, respectively.

The RackStation RS411 server runs version 3.0 of Synology's DiskStation Manager software and supports a range of file sharing and backup services (with the latter including back up to Amazon's S3 cloud storage service).

The Synology RackStation RS411 is available now for $800 (excluding GST).
