Unkrich posted two pictures of 3D-printed Toy Story 3 characters to the Twitpic image sharing service — a life-size recreation of the movie's ursine protagonist Lotso and Toy Story's central characters Buzz, Woody and Jessie. 3D printing blog Replicator reports that Pixar uses the 3D printing services of rapid prototyping firm Z Corp., also linking to a 2008 post showing a Toy Story zoetrope created using 3D printing.

The Toy Story 3 director also answered questions from his Twitter followers about 3D printing and posted links to videos explaining the 3D printing process.
