HTC Wildfire S Android phone (preview)

HTC has opted for evolution rather than revolution in its latest Android phones, and the HTC Wildfire S — a successor to the original Wildfire smartphone — is no exception.

Unveiled at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) trade show in Barcelona, Spain, the HTC Wildfire S is a very similar phone to its predecessor. It has the same 3.2in, capacitive touchscreen and 5-megapixel camera as its predecessor, with a minor RAM increase (512MB compared to 384MB) and a slightly faster processor (600MHz compared to 528MHz) the biggest changes under the hood.
The HTC Wildfire S is also smaller and lighter than the original model, and has an improved screen resolution. The main other improvement centres around the software; the Wildfire S runs the latest 2.3 Gingerbread version of Google's Android platform along with the latest version of HTC's Sense user interface. 2.3 Gingerbread offers a revamped keyboard, better copy and paste, improved power management, and a slicker user interface as improvements over previous versions of Android.
The current HTC Wildfire is sold in Australia exclusively through Telstra, but HTC is yet to announce any pricing or carrier details for the Wildfire S.

Old wildfire, but new shell. Only improvement worth mentioning is that its now HVGA not qvga, unlike with orig wildfire. But as if to balance this "plus" factor, the battery of the wildfire s got SMALLER at 1230 amp, which is deplorable.
So actually, you got the Wildfire s -- better screen, but poor battery. Or you can go for the orig wildfire -- poor screen, good battery. Which one you can't live without -- good screen or good battery? Your Call.
