Originally reported by German technology Web site Macerkopf.de, but posted by MacRumours.com, an unnamed source says that Apple will unveil iOS 5 and a revamped MobileMe service in the first or second week of April.
Apple traditionally shows off features of its next-generation iOS platform a few months before it launches new iPhone hardware; in 2010, the company unveiled iOS 4 in April, and then launched the iPhone 4 in July.
iOS 5 is widely expected to include changes to the iPhone and iPad notifications system, along with revamped multitasking, and improved voice commands. Strong rumours also suggest that Apple plans to improve its MobileMe service by making it free (currently $119) and having it store personal user data like photos, music and videos.
