Denon is offering its customers a free upgrade to enable the Apple Airplay service on its D-N7 multimedia system. The upgrade, which usually costs $60, is available to anyone purchasing the Denon D-N7 until June 30.

Airplay is a wireless connection standard from Apple that lets users stream audio and video content from an iOS device like an iPhone or iPad over Wi-Fi to an Airplay-compatible device. It was launched as a feature of the iOS 4.2 software update, and features on the Apple TV as well as a small range of third-party devices from high-end audio component manufacturers like Denon, Bowers & Wilkins and JBL.

The Airplay upgrade for the Denon D-N7 requires a firmware update, with details on Denon's Australian Web site.
