Kogan challenges JB Hi-Fi and Harvey Norman with free TV offer

Find a TV cheaper at JB or Harvey's, and get a free Kogan

Online-only electronics retailer Kogan has started a new campaign to publicise the low cost of its TVs, promising freebies if consumers can find a cheaper equivalent TV advertised by bricks-and-mortar stores Harvey Norman and JB Hi-Fi.

The just-launched page on Kogan's Web site boasts that if Kogan doesn't beat its main competitors' prices, "it's free" — in other words, if you can find a cheaper TV in JB Hi-Fi or Harvey Norman than on the Kogan Web site, and the specs (screen size, screen type, resolution, features, et cetera) are equivalent, you'll get it free from Kogan. The full terms and conditions are available on Kogan's site, but here's the gist:

"If you find a better advertised price for a LCD or LED TV at Harvey Norman or JB Hi-Fi, we will give you the equivalent Kogan TV for FREE - Some Conditions apply - like the TV has to have the same features such as panel type (ie. LED or LCD) and the same size (32", 42", 46" etc) and same resolution & features (HD, Full HD, built-in DVD, etc)...

"No empty promises. No making you run around rings just to get the market price. See the equivalent TV cheaper in either of these big retailers and you'll get the Kogan for FREE! When most retailers price match, they say things like 'we don't match online prices' - our offer covers both the in-store and online prices of Harvey Norman and JB Hi-Fi."

This deal is unlikely to lose Kogan any money — its prices are generally already rock-bottom for what you'd pay for a TV — but it's another piece of publicity in a long line of stand-out stunts.

Windows 10 / HP Spectre

Ultimately, I think the Windows 10 environment is excellent for me as it caters for so many different uses. The inclusion of the Xbox app is also great for when you need some downtime too!

Windows 10 / Lenovo Yoga

For me, the Xbox Play Anywhere is a great new feature as it allows you to play your current Xbox games with higher resolutions and better graphics without forking out extra cash for another copy. Although available titles are still scarce, but I’m sure it will grow in time.
