Apple will sell 65 million iPads in 2012 - report

40 million will be third-generation iPads

Apple will sell 65 million iPads in 2012, 40 million of which will be the as-yet-unannounced third-generation iPad, according to a report.

Digitimes reports that shipments of 9.7in panels to Apple from its three suppliers - Samsung, LG and Chimei Innolux - would reach 65 million over the course of this year, having totalled 48 million in 2011.

Samsung overtook LG as the largest supplier of panels for Apple's iPad in January, shipping 2.45 million units, up from 1.65 million in December. LG supplied 2.1 million panels to Apple in December, but saw this figure slip to 1.7 million in February, the report states.

Demand for touch panels is expected to reach 16 to 17 million units in the first quarter of 2012, with 7.5 - 8 million orders for iPad 2 panels and 8.5 - 9 million orders for third-generation iPad panels.

Meanwhile, Cnet reports that the third-generation iPad will not be called the iPad 3, as many expect, but the iPad HD, with reference to the increased resolution of the new device's display.

Cnet's source is described as "a developer who's previously provided reliable information with respect to things Apple".

HP OfficeJet Pro 8730

I've had a multifunction printer in the office going on 10 years now. It was a neat bit of kit back in the day -- print, copy, scan, fax -- when printing over WiFi felt a bit like magic. It’s seen better days though and an upgrade’s well overdue. This HP OfficeJet Pro 8730 looks like it ticks all the same boxes: print, copy, scan, and fax. (Really? Does anyone fax anything any more? I guess it's good to know the facility’s there, just in case.) Printing over WiFi is more-or- less standard these days.

Windows 10 / HP Spectre x360

Ultimately, I think the Windows 10 environment is excellent for me as it caters for so many different uses. The inclusion of the Xbox app is also great for when you need some downtime too!

For me, the Xbox Play Anywhere is a great new feature as it allows you to play your current Xbox games with higher resolutions and better graphics without forking out extra cash for another copy. Although available titles are still scarce, but I’m sure it will grow in time.
