Unlike Telstra's new iPad plans, Vodafone will offer the new tablet on a range of 12 month plans in addition to 24 month contracts. Vodafone's plans start at $47 per month for the entry-level 16GB iPad model over 24 months.

"We've almost completed the rollout of our new 850MHz network built specifically for devices like the new iPad, said Noel Hamill, director of marketing and sales at Vodafone Australia. "Also, when customers buy an iPad plan it's backed by our new network guarantee to ensure customers are happy on our new network."

Vodafone's cheapest plan on the 16GB iPad will set you back $47 per month for 2GB of data, which totals $1128 over 24 months. There are no upfront costs on any of the new plans: the same plan on paired with the 32GB iPad will cost $51 per month and $56 per month with the largest 64GB model. On a shorter 12 month contract, the same 2GB per month plan will cost $76, $84 and $93 per month, respectively.

The new iPad will be available through selected Vodafone stores Australia wide from tomorrow, but the telco does not appear to be following Telstra's lead and opening some stores at midnight.

LIFEBOOK UH574

The Fujitsu LifeBook UH574 allowed for great mobility without being obnoxiously heavy or clunky. Its twelve hours of battery life did not disappoint.

STYLISTIC Q702

The screen was particularly good. It is bright and visible from most angles, however heat is an issue, particularly around the Windows button on the front, and on the back where the battery housing is located.

STYLISTIC Q702

My first impression after unboxing the Q702 is that it is a nice looking unit. Styling is somewhat minimalist but very effective. The tablet part, once detached, has a nice weight, and no buttons or switches are located in awkward or intrusive positions.
