Apple will launch iPay mobile payment platform, analyst

iPay system could make use of near field communication (NFC) technology in future iPhone or iPad devices

An analyst has predicted that Apple will launch a mobile payment platform called iPay.

J.P. Morgan analyst Mark Moskowitz thinks that the iPay system could make use of near field communication (NFC) technology in future iPhone or iPad devices.

"Currently, we do no have any evidence of an iPay platform in development, but it is our view that the company's current Apple Store app that enables consumers to check themselves out of an Apple Retail Store could be the stepping stone," Moskowitz said, according to Apple Insider.

Moskowitz is less convinced that Apple will launch a television this year.
