Apple v Samsung trial reveals two upcoming Samsung Windows Phone 8 devices

Court documents reveal that Samsung is planning to launch two Windows 8 smartphones this year

The trial between Apple and Samsung has revealed many secrets about both companies, including early iPhone prototypes, what Steve Jobs thought about a 7in iPad, and now, Samsung's plan to launch two Windows 8 devices before year end.

The 'Odyssey' and 'Marco' Windows Phone 8 devices are marked as running the Qualcomm MSM8960 chipset in leaked court documents, reports The Verge. They will also have a dual-core 1.5GHz system-on-chip.

The Odyssey has been described by Samsung as an "iconic smartphone," and is set to have a 4.65in HD display and an 8-megapixel rear camera. It's listed as having NFC technology, which could be used in conjunction with Microsoft's Windows Phone 8 Wallet Hub and Tap + Send features. Apple is also expected to introduce NFC to its next generation iPhone.

The Marco appears to be a slightly smaller device with a 4in display and a 5-megapixel rear camera, the court documents reveal. Both phones will have 4G LTE capabilities too.

The Fujitsu LifeBook UH574 allowed for great mobility without being obnoxiously heavy or clunky. Its twelve hours of battery life did not disappoint.

STYLISTIC Q702

The screen was particularly good. It is bright and visible from most angles, however heat is an issue, particularly around the Windows button on the front, and on the back where the battery housing is located.

STYLISTIC Q702

My first impression after unboxing the Q702 is that it is a nice looking unit. Styling is somewhat minimalist but very effective. The tablet part, once detached, has a nice weight, and no buttons or switches are located in awkward or intrusive positions.
