IDF 2012 cool gear: Meet the Core i7-powered Coke machine

Powerful Coke vending machine features Core i7 CPU to power camera and social features

Eight countries in South America are said to currently have the coolest Coke vending machines in the world. Featuring an Intel Core i7 CPU inside, not only can you buy a Coke: it's equipped with Wi-Fi and a touchscreen, so you can take a picture of yourself drinking the Coke you just bought and email it to your friends right away so they know!

The machine was demonstrated at the Intel Developer Forum opening keynote today by Intel's executive vice president, Dadi Perlmutter. No word yet on whether there's an Extreme Edition available for enthusiasts and Coke over-drinkers. Check out the video below.

STYLISTIC Q702

The screen was particularly good. It is bright and visible from most angles, however heat is an issue, particularly around the Windows button on the front, and on the back where the battery housing is located.

STYLISTIC Q702

My first impression after unboxing the Q702 is that it is a nice looking unit. Styling is somewhat minimalist but very effective. The tablet part, once detached, has a nice weight, and no buttons or switches are located in awkward or intrusive positions.
