The Google Nexus 4
Google has exhausted initial stocks of its Nexus 4 Android smartphone less than an hour after the device went on sale yesterday.
The latest flagship Android phone went on sale through Google's Play Store just after midday yesterday. However, both the 8GB and 16GB models were listed as "coming soon" less than an hour later.
The current Play Store page notes that customers can "sign up to be notified by email when Nexus 4 becomes available."
PC World Australia contacted Google to clarify when the device would go back on sale in Australia but is yet to receive a response. The 8GB model Nexus 4 sells for $349 while the 16GB model retails for $399.
The 16GB model Nexus 4, as it appears on the Australian Google Play Store.
There are currently no plans for Australian carriers to sell the phone, but manufacturer LG says that the 16GB model will sell through retailers at a later, unannounced date. However, there's no word yet on which retailers will stock the device.

I checked the Play store at midnight, at 9AM, and at 11AM, and it wasn't on sale. I checked back at 1PM and it was sold out.
It's really annoying that I didn't even get a notification email to say it was on sale, but I guess I'll just have to wait until they have more stock.
