Anarchy Reigns out now in Australia

PlatinumGames’ fighting game available in stores now

Anarchy Reigns, the latest game from developer PlatinumGames and publisher Sega, is available now on Sony PlayStation 3 and Microsoft Xbox 360 in Australia.

PlatinumGames executive director and producer, Atsushi Inaba, said the studio is “excited” about the Western release of the game.

"Anarchy Reigns is an ambitious project for PlatinumGames, as we wanted to challenge ourselves by creating a new genre, multiplayer brawling,” he said.

Inaba said the game can be played as a one-on-one fighter, but the real experience is in taking multiplayer characters into chaotic battles.

“We look forward to global anarchy online once everyone gets a hold of the game,” he said.

In typical PlatinumGames fashion, the game features over the top action and combat that was found in the studio’s earlier titles, such as 2010’s Bayonetta and Vanquish.

The game itself is a sequel of sorts to 2009’s MadWorld, featuring several characters from the Nintendo Wii exclusive game.

In addition to 16-player brawls, Anarchy Reigns also features microwave rays, supermutants, and a huge bounty hunter with a naturally-implanted chainsaw on his arm called Cthulhu.

Those who pick up the Anarchy Reigns Day One Edition will receive two extra multiplayer modes.

This include a special unlock within the game for the Bayonetta character model that can be used in both multi and single player modes.

Anarchy Reigns for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 will retail for $49.95.

Ultimately, I think the Windows 10 environment is excellent for me as it caters for so many different uses. The inclusion of the Xbox app is also great for when you need some downtime too!

For me, the Xbox Play Anywhere is a great new feature as it allows you to play your current Xbox games with higher resolutions and better graphics without forking out extra cash for another copy. Although available titles are still scarce, but I’m sure it will grow in time.
