Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn beta testing begins

Retooling of massively multiplayer online adventure goes into closed testing

Loyal fans finally have a chance to go hands-on with Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn as it enters the closed beta phase.

The massively multiplayer online (MMO) adventure has undergone a full redesign, so expectations are running high that the game will improve on its earlier iteration.

The closed beta consists of new Full Active Time Events (FATE) as part of the new gameplay system, where the players can be in the proximity of randomly occurring events without the need to form parties.

For players who want to check whether their PC specs are up to the demands of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, Square Enix has released benchmarking software as a free download on its benchmark site.
