Fourth Thief game announced for PC and PS4

New entry in stealth series to come out on next generation of hardware in 2014

Square Enix is resurrecting the Thief property with a new instalment next year.

Developed by Eidos-Montréal, the studio behind 2011’s Deus Ex: Human Revolution, the game has been confirmed for PC and PlayStation 4, as well as other next generation consoles.

The new game, currently named Thief, is positioned as a reinvention of the franchise, which has lain dormant with the release of Thief: Deadly Shadows in 2004.

The new game marks the return of master thief Garett in a first person adventure that allows players to take full control and choose their own path through the game’s levels, as well as how they approach and overcome each challenge.

Eidos-Montréal general manager, Stephane D’Astous, said the goal for the studio is to deliver the fantasy of being a master thief.

"We’re handling a precious gemstone with Thief,” he said.

“Fans remember the original games very fondly and we want to preserve that essence, which we have excellent experience of doing at Eidos-Montréal, whilst also introducing Thief to a brand new, next-generation, audience.”

The game is slated for release in 2014 for PC and PlayStation 4, though Square Enix adds that it is also planned for other next generation consoles, which is likely Microsoft’s successor console once it is formally announced.

HP OfficeJet Pro 8730

A smarter way to print for busy small business owners, combining speedy printing with scanning and copying, making it easier to produce high quality documents and images at a touch of a button.

HP OfficeJet Pro 8730

I've had a multifunction printer in the office going on 10 years now. It was a neat bit of kit back in the day -- print, copy, scan, fax -- when printing over WiFi felt a bit like magic. It’s seen better days though and an upgrade’s well overdue. This HP OfficeJet Pro 8730 looks like it ticks all the same boxes: print, copy, scan, and fax. (Really? Does anyone fax anything any more? I guess it's good to know the facility’s there, just in case.) Printing over WiFi is more-or- less standard these days.

Ultimately, I think the Windows 10 environment is excellent for me as it caters for so many different uses. The inclusion of the Xbox app is also great for when you need some downtime too!

For me, the Xbox Play Anywhere is a great new feature as it allows you to play your current Xbox games with higher resolutions and better graphics without forking out extra cash for another copy. Although available titles are still scarce, but I’m sure it will grow in time.
