IDG Communications Australia has today re-launched Good Gear Guide with an all-new masthead and a fresh design. Our new site incorporates PC World and will continue to offer award-winning content including trusted local product reviews, news and features.

Why Good Gear Guide as the lead masthead? Technology is being less driven by the typical PC, and there is more convergence than ever between the technology purchased for personal and professional use. Good Gear Guide will continue to be a one-stop shop for you, our readers, who want buying advice for the latest technology products, and where to buy those products through our partners.

We're still highlighting the PC World Business Centre as an easily-identifiable section within the Good Gear Guide site. The PC World Business Centre will contain business-centric product content, such as servers, storage, corporate hardware, mobility, printing and imaging, and more, whereas Good Gear Guide will present the broader technology spectrum showcasing smartphones, smart TVs, Ultrabooks, tablets, cameras and more.

Good Gear Guide (GGG) was first launched in 2005 and remains a vibrant brand that better represents technology today.

IDG’s dedicated in-house development team has worked hard to create a site that makes it easy to see all of our latest content in one hit, while at the same time making it simple to navigate.

Good Gear Guide still delivers the best locally-produced reviews, news and features, along with essential content from IDG's global editorial network. And we'll continue to engage with, you, our community, by making it easier for everyone to interact, share, like, tweet and participate in social media.

Let us know what you think of the new Good Gear Guide site! Like the new layout? Do you find it easy to navigate? Is something not working? Let us know your feedback by leaving a comment or question below.

STYLISTIC Q572

For work use, Microsoft Word and Excel programs pre-installed on the device are adequate for preparing short documents.

LIFEBOOK UH574

The Fujitsu LifeBook UH574 allowed for great mobility without being obnoxiously heavy or clunky. Its twelve hours of battery life did not disappoint.

STYLISTIC Q702

The screen was particularly good. It is bright and visible from most angles, however heat is an issue, particularly around the Windows button on the front, and on the back where the battery housing is located.

STYLISTIC Q702

My first impression after unboxing the Q702 is that it is a nice looking unit. Styling is somewhat minimalist but very effective. The tablet part, once detached, has a nice weight, and no buttons or switches are located in awkward or intrusive positions.
