Can you believe it’s been five years since the App Store was born? They grow up so fast.
Apple’s celebrating the App Store’s fifth birthday by offering folks a number of significant and popular apps for the low, low price of nothing. Nada. Zilch. Zip. The big goose egg. Free.
There are five apps and five games (I see there’s a whole “five” theme going on here) available for download, all of which are significant in some way: On the app side, you can pick up the Barefoot World Atlas, diary/journal app Day One, How to Cook Everything, photo-captioning software Over, and the normally $20 Traktor DJ iPhone.
If games are more your thing, the Apple Design Award winner Badland is up for grabs, along with the popular Infinity Blade II, Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP (one of my favorites), the kindly avians of Tiny Wings, and Disney’s hit Where’s My Water?
That’s a lot of great games and apps, to be sure, and maybe you’ll even be encouraged to browse the aisles and spend some of your hard-earned money on the thousands of other great options. Remember, you can snap these up for only a little while, else you might have to wait for another big App Store birthday to roll around.
