Locally-owned startup, Australian Broadband Services (AuSBBS), is targeting small businesses with new National Broadband Network (NBN) plans priced at $100 and $155 per month.
The former, named NBN small office/home office (SOHO) Basic, promises up to 25 megabit per second (Mbps) download speed (equivalent to 3.125 megabytes per second), and a 10Mbps upload rate (or 1.25MBps).
The NBN SOHO Premium option claims speed up to 100Mbps (12.5MBps) down and 40Mbps (5MBps) up speed. Both plans include SOHO voice and static IP.
Clients also have access to unbundled data packs which start at $70 (including static IPs).
Optional extras include hosted firewalls, netflow monitoring, hosted PBX, VPNs
AusBBS chief executive officer (CEO), Rob Appel, said the SOHO market “is set to be one of the main beneficiaries of the NBN roll out with access to industrial grade speeds. Telecommuting is a huge growth area for SOHO and staff working from home need the speed stability and extra services that these plans offer.”
Appel also said AusBBS intends to offer plans for data-intense business and corporate customers once NBN Co implements additional speed tiers of 250Mbps and higher in December.
