Aldi selling $99 Android tab for today only

A 7in tab running a kid-friendly version of 4.4 Kitkat

Aldi is selling a 7in Android tablet designed with children in mind for today only.

The tablet runs the latest version of Android 4.4 KitKat, but it has various tweaks in place for children. Customisations include “educational games for toddlers, pre-schoolers and older kids”, an ad-blocker, safeguards to prevent the purchase of applications and password protection.

The 7in tablet has a 1024x600 resolution screen, a 1.5GHz dual-core CPU, 4GB of internal storage and support for microSD memory. The no-name tablet comes bundled with a rubber case.

My first impression after unboxing the Q702 is that it is a nice looking unit. Styling is somewhat minimalist but very effective. The tablet part, once detached, has a nice weight, and no buttons or switches are located in awkward or intrusive positions.
