Under Windows 2000, the Control Panel's Add/Remove Hardware applet streamlines the process of trouble-shooting hardware. Launch it and select Add/Troubleshoot a Device. Any devices that Windows 2000 recognises as problematic appear at the top of the list, with yellow or red markings on them indicating the severity of the problem. Click an item to select any problem hardware, then click Next. You'll get an analysis of the problem; click Finish to launch the troubleshooting wizard.
