Samsung Electronics appoints Carl Rose

Rose to be new vice-president of consumer electronics

Samsung Electronics has appointed Carl Rose as its new vice president of consumer electronics.

In the new role, Rose will leverage his experience in consumer electronics and business management and will oversee television, audio visual, home appliances, air conditioning and communications-electronics (CE) business solutions.

Prior to the appointment, Rose had a 26 year career with Sony in Australia, New Zealand and the UK, holding the role of A/NZ managing director for seven years.

Most recently, he was managing director of CR Consulting, a position he held for more than two years.

Rose said he is pleased to join Samsung at an exciting time for the company’s consumer electronics division.

"Samsung continues to be at the forefront of its industry, which it demonstrated at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in January when it unveiled its diverse range of connected products and services.

“It’s an honour to join Samsung as its brand continues to go from strength to strength both in Australia and globally. I look forward to working with the team to take the business to new heights,” he added.

Samsung Electronics Australia president, Harry Lee, said he is confident that Rose will lead the company’s consumer electronics division to continue its growth and success in Australia.

“Rose is uniquely please to lead Samsung’s consumer electronics division thanks to his deep understanding and years of experience working across the audio visual market, his relationships with customers and networks across the industry,” he added.

LIFEBOOK UH574

The Fujitsu LifeBook UH574 allowed for great mobility without being obnoxiously heavy or clunky. Its twelve hours of battery life did not disappoint.

STYLISTIC Q702

The screen was particularly good. It is bright and visible from most angles, however heat is an issue, particularly around the Windows button on the front, and on the back where the battery housing is located.

STYLISTIC Q702

My first impression after unboxing the Q702 is that it is a nice looking unit. Styling is somewhat minimalist but very effective. The tablet part, once detached, has a nice weight, and no buttons or switches are located in awkward or intrusive positions.
