HP partners with Intel to invigorate STEM (+4 photos)

Offers Victorian teachers exclusive access to empowering technologies of the future

HP and Intel have partnered to champion focus on the issue of a lack of STEM skills across the nation.

The companies have inked a partnership to offer a select group of public and private school teachers in Victoria, exclusive access to technologies that could empower future learning.

The event took place at HP’s Melbourne Experience Centre.

“HP has really strong integration with the education sector,” HP Australia country business manager and commercial channel, Chris Hewlett, said.

“In Australia, HP Commercial PCs have been number one in market for almost three years. We have over 40 attendees to our Education event in Melbourne which enabled teachers’ direct engagement with new technologies, such as Sprout by HP and Intel’s Genuino Technology,” he added.

“HP’s aim is to bring innovation to life for all customers and partners. The Australian education sector is ready for technology disruption and we truly believe that events like these could change the future for students in our schools, preparing them for the workforce of tomorrow.”

HP OfficeJet Pro 8730

I've had a multifunction printer in the office going on 10 years now. It was a neat bit of kit back in the day -- print, copy, scan, fax -- when printing over WiFi felt a bit like magic. It’s seen better days though and an upgrade’s well overdue. This HP OfficeJet Pro 8730 looks like it ticks all the same boxes: print, copy, scan, and fax. (Really? Does anyone fax anything any more? I guess it's good to know the facility’s there, just in case.) Printing over WiFi is more-or- less standard these days.

Windows 10 / HP Spectre x360

Ultimately, I think the Windows 10 environment is excellent for me as it caters for so many different uses. The inclusion of the Xbox app is also great for when you need some downtime too!

For me, the Xbox Play Anywhere is a great new feature as it allows you to play your current Xbox games with higher resolutions and better graphics without forking out extra cash for another copy. Although available titles are still scarce, but I’m sure it will grow in time.
