MYOB's new JustInvoices is just right for people who run their own business and don't feel the need for a full-blown accounting package with a full-blown price. As its name suggests, this capable and simple $79.95 program is an invoicing solution aimed at small business, allowing you to track quotes, sales, GST and payments. In many cases, this is all a small business - such as a contractor, labourer or freelancer - will need. The main advantage with a program like this as opposed to using a word processor and spreadsheet for invoicing is its reporting capabilities. Detailed reports can be created on a variety of parameters, such as outstanding quotes, invoices you've made, sales and GST collected; very handy at BAS time.

The program's Command Centre offers easy navigation by dividing the tools into business categories: Sales, Customers, Inventory, Reports and Tools. Getting started is simple: you'll need to create a company file, enter customer details, customise your business's service descriptions and goods, and then you can start invoicing.

Professional invoice templates are provided which you can customise with your own logo, or you can design an invoice from scratch. Much of the invoice information will be drawn from data you've already entered, and GST can be automatically calculated, so the process is expedited. Invoices can be printed or e-mailed and saved as templates for recurring sales.

MYOB is offering M-Powered invoices to users of JustInvoices. This service enables small businesses to provide Postbillpay, Credit Card by Phone and BPAY payment options to their customers.
