Windows 2000 service pack 1 released

Although pundits have hailed the Windows 2000 platform as Microsoft's best and most stable platform, there were still a few little quibbles that the Microsoft engineers had to seek out and destroy.

Specifically, the pack contains fixes for some reliability and application compatibility issues, as well as setup and security vulnerability issues but there are no new features to report.

The pack can be applied to the whole range of Windows 2000 products, from the Professional to the Server edition, and can be downloaded from Microsoft's web site.

There are different downloads for each version of the operating system so download time will vary depending on your needs.

Alternately, you have the option of ordering a CD.

My first impression after unboxing the Q702 is that it is a nice looking unit. Styling is somewhat minimalist but very effective. The tablet part, once detached, has a nice weight, and no buttons or switches are located in awkward or intrusive positions.
