Hitachi 42in flat-panel display

Mere mortals may have a hankering for a 17in monitor, or perhaps an 81cm LCD flat screen TV, but this baby takes the cake. Hitachi has locally released its range of high-definition flat-panel displays, which use a variation on plasma screen technology whereby the panels alternate the lights of odd and even lines to achieve an increase in brightness and definition across the panels. It may be 42in in screen size, yet the display weighs in at 33.5kg, is only 89mm thick, and offers a viewing angle of 1600, which ensures that images don't disappear as you cross the room. Designed for the corporate display market, with applications ranging from shopping centres and digital art to reception areas and showrooms, your digital display is sure to make an impact.

LIFEBOOK UH574

The Fujitsu LifeBook UH574 allowed for great mobility without being obnoxiously heavy or clunky. Its twelve hours of battery life did not disappoint.

STYLISTIC Q702

The screen was particularly good. It is bright and visible from most angles, however heat is an issue, particularly around the Windows button on the front, and on the back where the battery housing is located.

STYLISTIC Q702

My first impression after unboxing the Q702 is that it is a nice looking unit. Styling is somewhat minimalist but very effective. The tablet part, once detached, has a nice weight, and no buttons or switches are located in awkward or intrusive positions.
