Information service suffers 24-hour delay

According to an ASX spokesperson, the "embarrassing" technical glitch was believed to be "some kind of a bug in the system software". The spokesperson was unable to identify the software.

And in what must have been a busy day for Exchange IT staff, the ASX Web site also crashed after suffering technical difficulties yesterday afternoon.

The problem was believed to be associated with the ASX Web server, according to the spokesperson who said the ASX was continuing testing today.

The ASX delayed information service was available late this afternoon.
