Bulletin: Ebay, Buy.com Confirm Sites Attacked

A day after the U.S. Web sites of Yahoo Inc. were targeted with a denial of service attack, Ebay Inc. and Buy.com Inc. have both said problems experienced by their Web sites today were due to similar attacks.
A spokeswoman for Ebay, whose site was still unaccessible at time of writing, said the site was down because of what appeared to be a denial of service attack while a spokeswoman for Buy.com said the site was brought down for several hours by such an attack beginning at 10:30am PST (Pacific Standard Time) today.
