Compaq announces releases in graphic detail

The addition of two new members to Compaq Australia's Deskpro and Professional Workstation families was announced yesterday.

The ELSA GLoria II and Matrox G200 Quad Multi-Monitor Series (MMS) are newly developed graphics controllers. The products were tested and certified by Compaq's Graphics Excellence Programme, which is designed to allow Compaq to identify and introduce innovative graphic solutions on Compaq workstations.

It is expected that the ELSA GLoria II and Matrox series will be released in Australia in mid-April through the normal Compaq-authorised resellers and distributors.

Pricing for the releases is expected to be announced in the next couple of weeks.

The screen was particularly good. It is bright and visible from most angles, however heat is an issue, particularly around the Windows button on the front, and on the back where the battery housing is located.

My first impression after unboxing the Q702 is that it is a nice looking unit. Styling is somewhat minimalist but very effective. The tablet part, once detached, has a nice weight, and no buttons or switches are located in awkward or intrusive positions.
