Web review: Free Codecs
Ryan Shaw (PC World) 15/10/2004 08:31:16

Files downloaded from the Internet, whether audio or video, may not play correctly in their respective media players. With some video files you may hear audio but see no video, and the media player may have trouble downloading or identifying the codec. Free Codecs is an excellent resource solution: it's as easy as identifying the troublesome codec and downloading. An integrated forum allows you to post questions if you're still having trouble. Codec packs are available that cover all major codecs and the site offers alternatives to major media players.
