Sausage Software's half year net profit grew 174 per cent over the corresponding period in 1999, from $0.707 million to $1.94 million, while its first half year revenue grew 775 per cent to $17.252 million.
More significantly, Sausage's revenue came close to doubling its full financial year revenue of $9.556 million in 1999.
Sausage is banking on its expansion into the corporate market, recent acquisitions, investments from Telstra, St George Bank and Intel, and the establishment of its research division to drive its next half year growth. It is also planning to make further acquisitions to enhance its ecommerce offerings and skill sets during the year.
The company was also recently one of 50 IT companies worldwide to receive the Technology Pioneer award at the World Economic Forum. Other companies awarded include Red Hat Software, Inktomi, and Lernout & Hauspie. Sausage is the only Australian company to receive the award.
