Oracle denies age discrimination charge

"We categorically deny all the allegations and we intend to make a vigorous defense," Jennifer Glass, an Oracle spokeswoman said in a phone interview.
Randy Baker, 55, a former Oracle executive vice president and management committee member, filed a lawsuit in San Francisco County Superior Court in February alleging age discrimination for his firing from the US database and tools vendor, Glass confirmed.
Baker is seeking $US18.5 million in damages, according to media reports.
Glass said Oracle will dispute a claim in the lawsuit that Oracle chief executive officer Larry Ellison, who is the same age as Baker, made derogatory comments to Baker about his age. "We deny all the allegations," Glass said.
