Toshiba Satellite L300 (PSLB0A-02M02)

Due to economies of scale, this 15.4in Satellite L300 is very affordable. Toshiba makes so many of these particular notebooks, the company practically gives you money back when you buy it (you get $150 cash back) for its $849 retail price. The 15.4in...

Fujitsu LifeBook P1620

Unless your name is Mini Me, this ultra-portable, tablet-convertible notebook might be a tad inconvenient to use. Its keys are approximately 1.4cm wide and the entire keyboard is 22.5cm wide, so it's almost impossible to type more than a few words at...

D-Link 3G Mobile Router (DIR-451)

When an Internet connection has to be set-up and shared in a location without any Internet infrastructure, D-Link's DIR-451 will come in handy. It's a 3G router that can distribute a 3G signal over its four-port 10/100 Ethernet switch or 802.11g wire...

Excel gPC

The Excel gPC, distributed by Protac, isn't an ordinary PC. From the outside it looks like a typical mini-tower-based PC, but its odd-looking 16in widescreen LCD monitor is the first clue that you're getting something different.

HP Pavilion Slimline S3380A

A slimline PC is perfect for situations where you don't have much space or when you want a computer that will run almost silently. Sure, you'll sacrifice expansion options and some performance (mainly for 3D graphics), but for the most part you'll ge...

Intel Core 2 Duo Extreme Processor QX9770

What makes a CPU 'extreme'? For the Intel Core 2 Duo Extreme Processor QX9770 it's a 3.2GHz clock speed, a 12MB level 2 cache and a 1600MHz front side bus. Why would you need such a fast and well equipped CPU? Mainly for video rendering and other app...

Fujitsu LifeBook T2010 (3.5G)

With a SIM card facility and 3.5G antenna built in, as well as WACOM touch-screen technology, this sub-2kg tablet-convertible notebook is very easy to use and fully-equipped to connect to the Internet using a mobile data plan.

Compro VideoMate E800

The E800 is Compro's PCI Express x1-based hybrid TV tuner. It's easy to install, has plenty of features, but its software still has many of the same quirks we've seen before.

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4850e

The push for more CPU cores is all well and good for users who can't get enough power to run render their videos, but many of us don't need that much grunt in our PCs, especially for simple tasks such as loading music onto an MP3 player, browsing the...

Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2H

AMD has launched a new chipset - the AMD 780G - to coincide with the release of its new low-power CPUs, and Gigabyte has put it to good use on its GA-MA78GM-S2H motherboard. It's an all-in-one board - meaning it also has integrated graphics - and its...

Western Digital RE2 GreenPower (WD1000FYPS)

The main aim of Western Digital's GreenPower line-up of drives, is to reduce power consumption. Not only for mid-range capacities, but also high-end, and not only for standard drives, but also for RAID Edition drives. This might seem to be a hard thi...

Seagate Momentus 5400.4 250GB (ST9250827AS)

It doesn't quite match the largest capacity on the market for notebook-sized drives (its drives sport capacities from 120-250GB), but Seagate's Momentus 5400.4 range offers plenty of advanced features and, best of all, a five-year warranty should any...

Netcomm NB6Plus4W

At the heart of it, the NB6Plus4W is an ADSL2+ modem with an 802.11g wireless access point and a 10/100 Ethernet switch. It's very easy to get up and running, even though it doesn't use Netcomm's traditional Web interface design, and, physically, it'...

Dynalink RTA1046VW

Dynalink's ADSL modem/router means business. And you quickly get a sense of that when you pull it out of the box. Unlike many of today's modems and routers, this one is large, plain, and solidly constructed. It doesn't rely on pretty-boy looks to get...

HP OfficeJet Pro 8730

A smarter way to print for busy small business owners, combining speedy printing with scanning and copying, making it easier to produce high quality documents and images at a touch of a button.

HP OfficeJet Pro 8730

I've had a multifunction printer in the office going on 10 years now. It was a neat bit of kit back in the day -- print, copy, scan, fax -- when printing over WiFi felt a bit like magic. It’s seen better days though and an upgrade’s well overdue. This HP OfficeJet Pro 8730 looks like it ticks all the same boxes: print, copy, scan, and fax. (Really? Does anyone fax anything any more? I guess it's good to know the facility’s there, just in case.) Printing over WiFi is more-or- less standard these days.

Windows 10 / HP Spectre x360

Ultimately, I think the Windows 10 environment is excellent for me as it caters for so many different uses. The inclusion of the Xbox app is also great for when you need some downtime too!

Windows 10 / Lenovo Yoga 910

For me, the Xbox Play Anywhere is a great new feature as it allows you to play your current Xbox games with higher resolutions and better graphics without forking out extra cash for another copy. Although available titles are still scarce, but I’m sure it will grow in time.
