The video game shame file 18/11/2009 12:23:00

Once upon a time, playing videogames was as socially acceptable as owning a 12-sided dice. It was something that nerds did in-between Star Trek marathons and zit-popping – at least, that was the popular perception in the playgrounds of the time. To talk incessantly about videogames was to invite wedgie annihilation from all directions. Needless to say, it was a dangerous time to be a gamer.

    ZOMG, that's racist! 13/11/2009 13:03:00

Pretty much everything is accused of being racist these days. From Creole chocolate cookies to old reruns of Speedy Gonzalez -- the cry of "ZOMG, That’s Racist!" is never far away. Even our humble video game consoles have come under increasing rates of fire. Most gamers vehemently deny the charges of cultural intolerance directed at their video games -- after all, it's just social watchdogs making a fuss about nothing... Right?

Canon Legria HF21 Full HD camcorder 11/11/2009 12:10:00

The Canon Legria HF21 is a Full HD flash memory–based camcorder aimed primarily at casual users. With an RRP of $1699, the Legria HF21 is significantly cheaper than Canon’s high-end efforts yet still hovers above the entry-level mark. Its video performance is acceptable for the asking price, with an impressive array of manual modes and consumer-friendly features. In short, it’s a good, solid camcorder that does the basics well.

Grand Theft Auto: Episodes From Liberty City 09/11/2009 16:20:00

Social watchdogs take note: The scum of Liberty City are back in business with a sideline in bullets, bloodshed and very bad behaviour. Cop-killing is mandatory, murder and mayhem rule the streets and prostitution is just one car beep away. In other words, it’s good to be back in town!

In the intervening years, Storey has turned Treasure Island into a thriving community with an estimated value of US$100,000. What's most amazing is that at the time of its purchase, Story was just 22.

How does somebody land a job on a professional e-sports team? What sort of training is involved? How much money can you make? Are those 'all-girl' teams the real deal, or are they just vacuous eye candy? These were some of the questions we posed to Team Immunity head-honcho Tony Trubridge at the Melbourne eGames Expo 2009.

Movember Special: We pay lip service to the best 'taches in gaming 04/11/2009 15:20:00

We're big fans of Movember here at GamePro. In addition to raising awareness of men's health issues, it allows unmanly types (like us) to proudly display our peach-fuzz free of discrimination. On any other month of the year, our pathetic attempts to grow a mustache would be mercilessly abused and ridiculed. But not so on November 1st -- for one month, our scratchy efforts become heroic! This year, Rockstar Games is an official sponsor of Movember -- which just about justifies this extra-fuzzy feature. Rest assured, we've left no whisker unturned in our mission to bring you the very best lip fur that gaming has to offer.
