Simple but brilliant: Texting for pizza 21/08/2007 23:59:31

On the surface, it doesn't quite make sense why you'd text a pizza order rather than just call it in. But sometimes ya just don't feel like dialing, waiting for someone to pick up, then explaining all the details, right? "Yes, I really do want a large with pineapples, artichokes, hamburger meat, and anchovies."

    Control your iPod--with your mouth? 21/08/2007 23:57:05

It's a natural reaction for me to clench my teeth whenever that James Blunt song comes on my iPod. OK, we've officially lost count of the number of iPod speaker systems out there. And JVC has recently added a slew of new ones to the pot. Most drool-inducing is the NX-PS1 (US$250, available in September), a desktop system consisting of four cubes--a center unit, two speakers, and a subwoofer. The system also features an auxiliary input for hooking up other players, headphone jack, remote, iPod stand, timer/clock, and four EQ settings.

    Drunken speakers 02/05/2006 12:51:20

Anything with the word "sake" in it immediately piques our interest, which is probably why JVC made sure to mention that its new compact home theater system features "sake-soaked wood cone speakers." JVC's new EX-A10 includes laptop-sized stackable receiver and DVD player as well as a pair of wood cone speakers, which sit inside cherry cabinets. Add TV, stir, and you've got a full-on home theater setup.

    Wi-Fi in the sky 25/07/2005 10:00:52

Wi-Fi on airplanes just got a lot more entertaining. Boeing last week launched a streaming television delivered straight to your laptop as part of its Connexion by Boeing high-speed Internet service. The video service will debut on Singapore Airlines, and lets passengers watch CNBC, BBC, Eurosport News, and either MSNBC (if you're flying in the United States) or Euronews (if you're abroad).
