    Disinfecting a spyware-riddled PC 03/07/2008 09:07:03

What do I do if I suspect someone is controlling my PC? When my IP address has been changed without my knowledge? My boot-up process is getting harder unless I unplug the Ethernet cable and the CPU is at 100 per cent every time I open any program. There is also a new connection to the Internet that is between my connection and the net I know was not there a month ago. When I try to register my e-mail address the programs say it's invalid and does not match whatever it has to compare it to.-- Teresa Hurst.

SMB - Getting home wireless to work 17/01/2008 08:38:36

I have a laptop that I have tried connecting to my new home cable network. Everything is connected but I can not even see my router on my laptop. HELP!! This is frustrating because a few weeks ago I had it on the road and it worked fine on the hotel's wireless and it worked fine on the company's wireless, but I cannot get it to work at home. Can you please give me some suggestions?-- Kevin Patterson

Wireless access controllers: Worth the trouble? 15/05/2007 14:45:25

Wireless networking is becoming more prevalent in our company. While the newer wireless showing up on the network is Mode G, we still have quite a bit of the Mode B. Some of the Mode B equipment may not be replaced for some type due to the cost (we have wireless bar code readers with specialized programming incorporated in them). My concern is how best to protect all of the wireless that we have on the network. Should I look at getting one of the wireless access point controllers that I have read about?

    Improving wireless security 08/05/2007 14:16:53

Partially for cost reasons (less money to spend versus regular wiring) and partially for convenience (users don't have to be close to a network jack), more wireless is starting to be deployed at my company. After reading about all of the security problems that come along with the benefits of having wireless as a part of the network, I am concerned about having enough protection in place will still having the wireless network being convenient to use. What do you suggest as possibilities for doing this?-- Via the Internet.

Getting up to speed with VoIP 06/03/2007 09:15:31

One reader asks: "My company is expecting to make the move to VoIP in the next year or so. I would like to learn some basics before the move is made and hopefully be able to ask the rights questions as the selection is made. Without hocking the family jewels, is there a way that I can build some experience?"
