Some of these figures seem on the low end...

I am surprised at the estimate of only 40% of spam being sent by zombie computers. I have been living under the assumption that it was as high as 90%. They seem to be the more conservative of the contributing estimate providers. I do like the 'neighborhood watch approach to malware, but I wonder how that helps if they so often run in such a stealthy manner. In the past these programs let you know they were there by either intruding on your experience or bogging down the system. Now they just stay in the background, silently stealing your information..
