Calling Sales Lines for Research

So, did you happen to mail $5-10 to each of the reps you spoke with that you did not buy computers from? If not, do you understand that you damaged the paycheck of most of those representatives?

At the very least, both Dell's consumer and Business sales divisions are on commission pay basis and part of that commission is based on their Close Rate - the number of boxes out the door vs the number of calls they take.

You just hurt someone's CR by 3% for the day if they were going FAST (most reps don't take 30 calls in a day).

You should really finding a contact who works for these companies and speaking to them off company time instead of taking time where they could have been selling to someone who would actually be buying a machine, thus earning the rep money with which to eat or buy gas.
