Win 7 and the Family Pack BS from MS

My wife and I have Macs. The 3 kids each have a Win XP PC. If MS does not offer a family pack in Australia they will likely lose the kids as well as us. I will skip the Win 7 "upgrade", let the now stable XP run until each machines dies and their next computer's will be Macs.

The two main differences between Mac and PC are Mac software is stable and Mac do not jerk you around like MS do. I just bought the family pack (5 licenses) of Snow Leopard fully featured for AUD $69. By comparison each license of "Win 7 Home Premium" (ie not fully featured) will cost AUD $299! Upgrading the kids PC's will cost $900!. Is MS barking mad? I would far rather put the $900 toward new Macs for the kids.
