    Swann PenCam DVR (SPY-420) 17/06/2009 13:50:00

The Swann PenCam DVR (SPY-420) is the kind of gadget that no aspiring 007 agent should be without. It’s essentially a video camera hidden inside a functioning ballpoint pen, complete with an inbuilt microphone and 2GB of flash memory. According to the box blurb, it’s “perfect for mystery shopping, covert surveillance or Internet fun” (none of which sounds particularly legal to us). The astonishing thing is that it actually takes pretty good video when used in optimum lighting. Considering its lens is the size of a pin hole, this is a pretty impressive feat.

    Sony BWU200S 07/07/2008 12:50:00

The BWU200S is Sony's second stab at an internal Blu-ray recorder, following in the footsteps of the pioneering BWU-100A. It can be viewed as an upscale version of the read-only BWU100A, which we reviewed earlier in the week. Combining the functionality of a DVD/CD burner with full Blu-ray support (including re-writable BD-RE discs), it is fully equipped to take care of all your recording needs. However, it's not the fastest device on the market and it faces some stiff competition from rival vendors.

Much like this year's Boston Celtics basketball team, the Dell XPS 730 is composed of three key elements (the superstars, if you will) and a bunch of good all-round components (the role players). This should make it a prime contender for any user who wants serious processing and above-average game-playing ability.
