    Sanyo LCD40XR10F LCD TV 28/04/2011 15:36:00

Sanyo's LCD40XR10F is a 40in, CCFL-backlit LCD TV -- it doesn't have the space- and energy-saving LED backlighting of a TV like the Kogan 32in Full HD 100Hz LED TV. It's reasonably attractive for a traditional LCD TV but it is bulky compared to its competitors. It's also a little expensive given its old-school technology -- we think that unless you can find it for a reasonable discount, there are better options available.

Flip camera alternatives come into focus 27/04/2011 06:05:10

When Cisco recently discontinued the Flip pocket camera products it left many fans of the pocket-sized device disappointed. While numerous users are happy to shoot video with smartphones, Flips were valuable because they were easy to carry, shot high-definition video and could be stabilized via a tripod mount. Although Cisco's exiting that market, there are still other handheld digital video cameras from Kodak, Creative, Sanyo and Sony have similar features and could be contenders to ultimately replace the Flip. These handheld video cameras have USB arms that plug into laptops for recharging, and software to easily upload videos to websites such as Facebook, YouTube and Picasa.

Sanyo Xacti VPC-CS1 pocket camcorder review 12/10/2010 15:50:00

The Sanyo Xacti VPC-CS1 is a Full HD pocket camcorder that records MPEG-4 video to SDHC flash memory cards. With its ultra-compact size and sleek good looks, the VPC-CS1 will make an ideal companion for bloggers and casual shooters. On the downside, image quality is less than superb -- especially in dim lighting -- but for the asking price and size, we think it does a pretty good job.
